Dream Team

Dawn Diaz, Founder

The Annual Mother’s Day Walk was created by Dawn Diaz; Inspirational Speaker, Author, Life Coach, and Founder of Milagros Day Worldwide. Always the visionary, in 2011 Dawn set out to begin this New York City tradition. The result was a fun, family event to honor and celebrate Motherhood while raising awareness and funds to support programs for those who have experienced Domestic Violence. She chose the Brooklyn Bridge as a tribute to her own mother Carmen Milagros, who suffered severe physical abuse while Dawn was growing up; and to her years as a Paramedic/Captain in The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) where she responded to countless Domestic Violence 911 calls.

  1. How can we organize something like this in Orlando FL there have been so many loss’ to Domestic Violence, My mother is a domestic violence survivior because my biological father passed when I was 3, my mother is an amazing woman who suffers from a lotof brian damage I believe we due to the beatings she received, she was literally hung over the Van Wyck Expressway by her neck. I also lost a friend 5 years ago to Domestic Violence I would love to start a walk here in Orlando but I do not know where to begin. If you could please direct me in the correct direction.

Google Berlitz Alvelo death in Orlando Florida 2005, he stabbed and killed her then ran her over with her car then led the police on high speed chase and killed 2 medical students after raming his car into them.

    Thank you,
